Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I attend the Dana Rader Golf School?

The Dana Rader Golf School, a Golf Magazine Top 25 Golf School, is Charlotte's Premier Golf School, featuring a state-of-the art instructional facility, nestled in a private area of Ballantyne Resort. We combine the best in video technology with a team of award-winning LPGA and PGA instructors. Our students have consistently achieved lower scores as a direct result of our instruction. The programs have a low student/teacher ratio and provide the total golf experience - a challenging 18-hole course, golf instruction, club analysis and repair, and information on nutrition and exercise.

What is your teaching philosophy?

The foundation of our success is our ability to be as simple or as detailed as necessary to help you meet your goals and expectations. Our swing model is based upon the ball flight laws and the principles and preferences of proven techniques of all great golf champions. We believe in a student-centered approach - identifying your learning style and teaching a swing that matches your physical characteristics.

How soon should I enroll?

Schools fill up quickly, so it is best to send in your registration and deposit as soon as possible.

How much time will I spend on the golf course in a Three-Day School?

The first day features video-taping, identifying set-up and swing corrections, as well as several hours of short game instruction. The last two days include full swing and short game instruction, as well as on-course instruction. Tee times can be reserved after school on days one and two on a space available basis and are included in school cost.  Any tee time made on day three is not included.

What do you recommend for a beginning golfer?

The best way to begin mastering the game of golf is to attend either a Women's Beginner Golf School or Men's Golf 101. Both of these programs include the basics of the swing, rules, etiquette, and experience on the golf course.

Are you going to change everything about my swing?

No. We will enable you to understand the importance of the set-up in relation to your golf swing and desired ball flight. In addition, we will place an emphasis on only one or two swing corrections based upon your goals.
